Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has set a bold target to end Africa’s reliance on imported fertilisers within 40 months. Speaking at a recent summit, he revealed that the expansion of his Lagos fertiliser plant will make it the largest in the world, surpassing Qatar’s capacity.
Dangote emphasized that with better infrastructure and policy support, the continent can achieve self-sufficiency in food production. His move is expected to significantly reduce costs for farmers and boost agricultural yields across Africa.
