The University of Ghana has lifted its ban on social gatherings following a drop in COVID-19 cases on campus.
In a notice dated July 14, the Office of Student Affairs confirmed that the restriction is lifted with immediate effect. Student groups including GRASAG, SRC, JCRs, religious bodies, and departmental associations may now resume their events and week celebrations. The university, however, urged all organisers to strictly observe COVID-19 protocols. The decision was made in consultation with University Health Services and management. Authorities emphasized health and safety remain a priority. Students are expected to ensure responsible event conduct. UG thanked the community for its continued cooperation.
