Japan Boosts Togo with New Food Aid

Japan has given Togo 800 million CFA francs for food aid under the Kennedy Round 2025 project. The funds will be used to buy rice and sell it cheaply to help vulnerable people.

This support is part of Japan’s non-refundable financial aid to Togo. Money from rice sales will be saved and used for farming and education projects. Japan’s ambassador said the aid supports Togo’s farming goals, especially in ZAAP zones. Togo’s Agriculture Minister called the partnership crucial during high food prices.

Earlier this year, Japan sent 2,275 tonnes of rice under KR 2023. Another rice shipment is expected at the end of 2025 under KR 2024.
