Togo and Germany have launched the Municipal Financing Support Program. The €20 million (13 billion FCFA) fund will boost local development.
It is the first time an external partner funds Togo’s FACT program. The first phase covers 60 municipalities in Kara, Central, and Plateaux. Focus areas include education, health, and local economic projects. A second phase will extend to all 117 municipalities nationwide.
Germany stressed transparency and good governance in using the funds. Officials say the program will improve living conditions in communities.
