Forager Project has launched The Cashew Project, a multi-year program in Côte d’Ivoire. The initiative focuses on organic farming, financial literacy, and sustainable agriculture. It aims to boost farmers’ incomes and help women gain financial independence. Over 10,000 farmers, half of them women and youth, will be trained by 2026. Cashew trees also support biodiversity and reforestation while needing little irrigation. More than 1,000 farmers are already in organic certification training.
A warehouse and drying yard in Djébonoua were built to protect harvests. The program shows how food companies can support farmers and the planet.
