Chinese automotive manufacturer Jetour has introduced the T2 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to the Nigerian market, combining fuel efficiency with electric capabilities to support the Federal Government’s green energy initiatives while addressing consumer demand for versatile transportation solutions.
The T2 PHEV represents an advanced iteration of the lifestyle off-roader already available in Nigeria, integrating a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with dual electric motor setup. The hybrid system delivers combined output of 280 kW (375 hp) and maximum torque of 610 NM, powered by a 26.73kWh battery system.
The vehicle offers multiple charging options including fast charging, slow charging, engine charging, and brake force regeneration, eliminating range anxiety concerns. During petrol operation, the engine simultaneously charges the battery, ensuring continuous electric capability without external charging dependency.
“The hybrid can effectively switch to electric operation, supporting the Federal Government’s green energy initiative,” according to manufacturer specifications. The vehicle’s versatility addresses infrastructure limitations while promoting environmental sustainability through reduced emissions.
Jetour’s market introduction follows recognition as ‘Fastest Growing Brand in Nigeria’ at the 2024 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association Awards, based on instant market success and wide consumer acceptance within one year of local market entry.
The T2 PHEV measures 4785mm length, 2006mm width, and 1875mm height, featuring comprehensive safety systems including driver and passenger airbags, Advanced Emergency Braking System, Electronic Parking Brake, and 360-degree surrounding camera with panoramic parking assistance.
Advanced technology features include Electronic Gear Shifting System, Remote Start capability, Smart Entry with Push Start, and Drive Mode Selector offering EV, HEV, Eco, Sports, Normal, and Snow options. The vehicle includes 15.6-inch LCD touchscreen with Apple Play and Android Auto compatibility.
Comfort amenities feature panoramic roof, automatic climate control with rear vents, power driver and passenger seats with ventilation and memory functions, and 12-speaker Sony premium audio system. The vehicle operates on 20-inch tires emphasizing comfort and performance.
Jetour provides five-year warranty or 150,000km coverage on the T2 Plug-in Hybrid Electric vehicle, demonstrating manufacturer confidence in product reliability and supporting consumer investment protection.
