Togo Cuts Customs Fees on Older Vehicles

The Togolese Revenue Office (OTR) has announced a 20% reduction in customs clearance fees for vehicles over five years old. The measure runs from September 1 to November 15, 2025, and targets vehicles still pending at customs.

Authorities say it aims to reduce congestion in vehicle fleets and boost year-end orders. To qualify, duties and taxes must be settled by November 30, 2025. After this deadline, the discount will be canceled automatically. The OTR says the measure complies with the National Customs Code.

It forms part of efforts to simplify taxes and promote the release of vehicles for consumption. Similar reliefs have been granted in past years, including a 40% cut in 2021 during the Covid-19 crisis.
