Chief of Staff Julius Debrah says corruption in Ghana is now spreading beyond public offices. He noted it is gradually entering schools, homes, and communities, threatening the nation’s future.
Speaking in Accra, he launched a five-day stakeholder meeting to draft a new anti-corruption plan. The plan, called NEACAP, will begin in 2026 under the direct oversight of the Presidency. Debrah cited the recent JoyNews exposé on BECE exam malpractice as evidence of ethical decline. He explained that the earlier NEACAP (2015–2024) failed due to poor funding and weak support.
The new strategy, he said, will treat corruption prevention as essential to national development. Government has pledged to fully finance the plan, calling it an investment in Ghana’s progress.
