Access Bank (Ghana) Plc has appointed Pearl Nkrumah as its new Managing Director, effective October 1, 2025. Her appointment, approved by the Board and the Bank of Ghana, makes her the Bank’s first female MD since operations began in Ghana.
She takes over from Olumide Olatunji, who led since 2018 and now moves to a new executive role in Nigeria. Until her appointment, Ms. Nkrumah served as Executive Director for Retail & Digital Banking and Head of Retail Business for Access Africa subsidiaries. She also chairs the Council of the Ghana Stock Exchange representing listed companies. With over 25 years of experience at Standard Chartered and Stanbic Bank, she brings strong expertise in retail, commercial, and digital banking.
The Bank’s Board Chair, Ama Bawuah, praised her track record and said her leadership would inspire future women leaders. Outgoing MD Olatunji expressed confidence in her ability to drive Access Bank Ghana into its next phase of growth.
