Togo registered 3,352 new businesses in the third quarter of 2025, according to data from the Business Formalities Center. This brings the total number of businesses created between January and September to 11,099.
The figure is lower than the 11,979 businesses recorded during the same period in 2024. This represents a year-on-year decline of about 7.3%. The drop follows steady growth in business creation between 2021 and 2024. Officials say the fall is mainly due to fewer initiatives by Togolese nationals.
Authorities are still pushing reforms to make business registration faster and cheaper. They are also promoting entrepreneurship and digital procedures to boost formal economic activity.
