Ghana — Ghana Reports Falling Public Debt

Ghana’s Finance Ministry says the country’s public debt has dropped from GH¢726.7 billion to GH¢630.2 billion. Officials attribute the decline to restructuring measures and improved revenue collection.

Economists note that the reduction could strengthen investor confidence. However, they warn that sustained fiscal discipline will be required to prevent another surge in borrowing.
