President Mahama has pledged to protect the independence of the Bank of Ghana. He said a credible central bank is key to Ghana’s economic stability.
Speaking at the Cedi@60 Conference, he praised the bank’s progress in stabilizing the Cedi. He stressed that the gains must be protected from political interference. Mahama said the economy is recovering because of tough decisions and prudent management. He noted that an independent central bank boosts investor confidence.
The president added that his administration will support efforts to control inflation and keep the cedi stable. He congratulated the Bank of Ghana on its 60-year journey and its role in safeguarding economic sovereignty.
