Togo’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry is calling for IMF financing to focus more on private businesses. The issue was discussed during a meeting in Lomé between CCI-Togo president José Syménouh and IMF representative Racheeda Boukezia.
Both sides reviewed ongoing projects that aim to boost jobs, support companies, and drive economic growth. The IMF team is assessing these initiatives to decide how best to strengthen its support. CCI-Togo believes greater private-sector funding is key to stability and long-term development. The two institutions agreed to step up their collaboration in the coming years.
Togo is already benefiting from a 42-month IMF program worth about US$400 million. This program supports reforms meant to improve stability, promote inclusive growth, and build a stronger economy.
