SSNIT will roll out a new pensioner certificate renewal policy in April 2026. The revised system requires all pensioners to renew their certificates every year. Renewal must be done in the pensioner’s birth month to keep payments active. Officials say the policy aims to protect the integrity of the national pension scheme. Renewal options include the SSNIT Mobile App, Virtual Branch, and partner banks.
All SSNIT branches nationwide will also assist pensioners with the process. Home verification will be available for pensioners with mobility challenges. SSNIT will send reminders a month before each pensioner’s birth month.
