Togo adopts new FACT funding criteria

Togo’s Cabinet has approved new criteria for sharing FACT funds in 2026. The decision was taken on Monday, February 2, 2026. Government plans to allocate 12 billion CFA francs to the fund. The criteria aim to better reflect the needs of each local authority. They will promote fairness, solidarity, and balanced development.

FACT supports municipalities and regional councils in local development. Since 2021, allocations have considered poverty levels, land size, and population. Poorer municipalities therefore receive more support under the system.
