Eni Makes Major Offshore Discovery

Eni has announced a significant gas and condensate discovery offshore Côte d’Ivoire. The find was made in Block CI-501 at the Murene South-1X well. The new field, named Calao South, is believed to hold substantial reserves. Authorities believe it could rank among the country’s largest hydrocarbon finds. The discovery strengthens Côte d’Ivoire’s growing energy sector. Meanwhile, ExxonMobil has been authorised to begin offshore exploration.

The approval allows ExxonMobil to expand its search for oil and gas in Ivorian waters. Authorities believe these developments will boost investment and increase national energy production.
