The President of the Organisation Interprofessionnelle Agricole (OIA), Siaka Diakite, has called for calm among cocoa cooperatives and farmers. Speaking on March 1, 2026, in Abidjan, he assured producers that remaining main-crop stocks will be purchased at the guaranteed price of 2,800 CFA francs per kilogram.
His statement followed a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office with government officials and the Director-General of the Conseil Cafe-Cacao (CCC). He confirmed that the government will continue the programme to buy back residual cocoa stocks. Authorities said the operation will not stop until all inventoried stocks are fully absorbed. All pending shipping documents in the CCC system are expected to be validated by March 2.
The move comes as the government prepares to announce a new guaranteed price for the mid-crop harvest, which has been brought forward this year. Officials say the goal is to restore stability and confidence within the cocoa sector.
