The Mixx electronic wallet in Togo has joined the Central Bank of West African States PI-SPI platform. This allows instant and interoperable money transfers across WAEMU countries. Users can now send and receive funds between wallets, banks, and microfinance institutions. Over 50 financial institutions, including Ecobank, are already connected to the system. The service enables real-time transfers between countries like Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso.
The initiative aims to improve financial integration and inclusion in the region. In Togo, mobile money is widely used, with Mixx serving millions of users. The platform also introduces QR code payments to support seamless regional trade.
