Liberia’s Central Bank has become a plenary member of the Network for Greening the Financial System, a global platform focused on climate-responsive financial reforms. The admission was approved by members of the organisation on April 10, 2026.
Officials say the move will strengthen Liberia’s ability to address climate-related financial risks and deepen partnerships with global institutions. The Central Bank has already conducted climate-risk assessments and developed an implementation roadmap for sustainable finance reforms.
