5,000 Homes Planned for Abobo

The Ivorian government has announced a plan to construct 5,000 housing units in Abobo over the next five years. The project is aimed at reducing the housing deficit in one of Abidjan’s most densely populated communes.

Authorities say the initiative will provide affordable and decent homes for low- and middle-income families. Construction will be carried out in phases to ensure steady progress and proper supervision. The programme is also expected to create jobs for local workers in the construction sector. Officials noted that improved housing will enhance living conditions and urban planning in Abobo.

The project forms part of the government’s broader national housing policy. Once completed, the homes are expected to ease pressure on the city’s growing population and improve social welfare.
