Eni, Partners Sign Energy Deal with Ghana

Eni, Vitol, and GNPC have signed a Memorandum of Intent with the Government of Ghana to boost oil and gas output. The agreement, witnessed by President Mahama during Africa Oil Week, also promotes sustainable energy initiatives.

It outlines a comprehensive investment plan to ensure affordable and reliable energy access for Ghanaians. Plans include expanding production at the OCTP project and exploring the new Eban-Akoma field. The partners aim to use existing infrastructure to cut costs and speed up delivery. Eni and its partners have already invested over $10 million in social projects for education, health, and clean water.

A second phase of investment will support small businesses and local economic development. Since 2018, the OCTP project has produced 107 million barrels of oil and 480 Bscf of gas, powering 70% of Ghana’s electricity.
