Ghana’s Godwin Asediba Wins Komla Dumor Award

Ghanaian journalist Godwin Asediba has won the 2025 BBC News Komla Dumor Award. He works with TV3 and 3FM, and his reports have featured internationally. At 29, Asediba focuses on human-interest stories that highlight injustice. The award honours Komla Dumor, the late BBC presenter who died in 2014.

Judges praised Asediba’s strong investigative work and integrity. One of his major stories exposed neglect at a large mortuary in Ghana. He will spend three months in London with BBC teams and mentors. As part of the placement, he will also report from another African country.
