Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Laid to Rest

A state funeral is being held today at Black Star Square. Thousands of Ghanaians are expected to attend the ceremony. Security and protocol teams completed preparations on Thursday. A Requiem Mass was held earlier at the Accra Ridge Church. Tributes described her as a champion of women’s empowerment.

She founded the 31st December Women’s Movement in 1982. She married former President J.J. Rawlings and had four children. Ghana gathers today to honour her lasting national legacy.
