Togo and Kazakhstan have agreed to scrap visas for diplomatic and service passport holders. The deal was signed on September 24, 2025, in New York by both countries’ foreign ministers. It was done on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly.
The step comes as the two nations celebrate 10 years of diplomatic cooperation. Relations grew stronger after President Faure Gnassingbé visited President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in 2023. They also signed a memorandum on digital transformation earlier this year.
The visa-free deal will make travel easier and boost trade and cooperation. Togo’s foreign minister said new opportunities lie in agriculture, food security, education, and transport.
