The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has returned to profitability with a net profit of GH₵35.06 million in 2024. This marks a 104% turnaround compared to the GH₵828.82 million loss recorded in 2023.
The bank’s revenue rose sharply to GH₵1 billion, up from GH₵651 million the previous year. Management credited the rebound to loan recovery efforts and operational restructuring. A government-backed rights issue also strengthened ADB’s capital position during the year. Despite the profit, the bank’s capital adequacy ratio remains negative at –3.15%.
Officials report that additional capital support will be needed to meet regulatory requirements. ADB remains confident of sustaining growth and restoring financial stability in the medium term.
