Togo is preparing a new industrial park in the Kara region with financial support from China. Togolese officials met Chinese investors in Lomé over the weekend to discuss the project.
The park is expected to host agribusiness, renewable energy, machinery assembly and electrical equipment production. According to Sandra Johnson, the project will boost industrialization, create skilled jobs and increase local processing. The Chinese delegation reviewed the project framework, which will later be formalized through a partnership agreement. This plan aligns with both countries’ goal of strengthening cooperation, reaffirmed during FOCAC 2024.
The park will add to China’s many existing development projects in Togo. It will also complement the Adétikopé Industrial Park and support new industrial initiatives under Togo’s 2026–2030 UNIDO partnership programme.
