Dangote Cement to Open Major Plant in Côte d’Ivoire

Dangote Cement Plc will commission a new 3 million tonnes per annum (Mta) grinding plant in Côte d’Ivoire by Q3 2025.

The project is part of the company’s strategy to expand its West African footprint and boost cement exports. This follows rising export demand, with Dangote’s shipments from Nigeria to Ghana and Cameroon up 18.2% this year. The company is also completing a 1.5 Mta plant in Côte d’Ivoire and has finished a 0.4 Mta plant in Ghana. CEO Arvind Pathak said the company is focused on efficiency and long-term value, citing strong profits in Q2.

Dangote aims to strengthen its “quarry-to-customer” model across Africa. Its growing network includes plants in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, South Africa, and now Côte d’Ivoire. The new facility is expected to support infrastructure and housing growth in the region.
