EBID and Colombia Forge New Economic Partnership

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development has signed a new cooperation agreement with Colombia. The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding on December 9, 2025, in Lomé.

The agreement was concluded during the visit of Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez Mina. It aims to strengthen economic ties between West Africa and Latin America. The two parties plan to develop joint projects and share technical expertise. Priority sectors include climate-resilient agri-food industries and information technologies.

The discussions took place alongside the ninth Pan-African Congress held in Lomé. The visit also featured high-level talks with Togolese authorities on South–South cooperation.
