Ivorian Government Supports Media Ahead of Elections

Communication Minister Amadou Coulibaly has urged journalists to show fairness, discipline, and responsibility. He said the media are the “watchdogs of democracy” and play a key role in peaceful elections.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to help improve radio coverage across the country. Coulibaly also encouraged media leaders to adopt the strategic development plan created by the ASDM. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Sidi Téra thanked the government for its essential support. He pledged to use the resources responsibly and uphold strong ethical standards.

The initiative aims to strengthen professionalism and improve the quality of information in Côte d’Ivoire. The election campaign begins on Friday, October 10, followed by voter card distribution on October 11.
