Infinity Power, a company from Egypt and the UAE, has won a deal to build two solar plants in Côte d’Ivoire.
The projects will be in Laboa and Touba, with a total capacity of 80 MW. They will produce some of the cheapest solar power ever seen in West and Central Africa. The work is set to start in March 2026 and finish before the end of that year. Once complete, they will give clean electricity to over 400,000 homes, schools, and hospitals.
The Energy Minister says the projects will create jobs and help fight climate change. Other big solar plants are also planned, including a 52 MW project by Tongon Solaire and a 50 MW one by Amea Power. The country wants 45% of its electricity to come from renewable energy by 2030.
