SME Fire Safety Training

The Ministry of Commerce has launched a week-long programme to train 50 small and medium enterprises in fire safety. The initiative aims to help SMEs understand both prevention and emergency response.

Participants received theoretical guidance on regulations and basic safety standards. They also took part in practical sessions on using fire-fighting equipment. Trainers stressed the importance of regular safety checks in business premises. SMEs were encouraged to prepare internal emergency plans.

The programme forms part of wider government efforts to improve workplace safety. Officials say the training will reduce accidents and protect lives and property.
