Tema Port has officially started 24-hour operations. This means importers can now clear goods even at 2 a.m.
GRA Commissioner-General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong confirmed the move. The change supports President Mahama’s 24-hour economy program. Customs already worked round-the-clock, but other agencies were not ready. Now, agencies like the FDA, Standards Board, and EPA are connected.
Banks and shipping lines are also integrated for smooth processes. Mr. Sarpong said challenges may arise, but the system is working.
