Togo Gets €22.5M Boost for Green Strategy

Togo will receive €22.5 million from Luxembourg, with EU support, to enhance its climate and biodiversity programs.

The funding is part of the PALCC+ initiative, which focuses on waste management in six cities and protecting key parks like Fazao-Malfakassa. Plans include modern recycling facilities and stronger anti-poaching and anti-deforestation measures. PALCC+ builds on a €10.6 million program launched in 2017 to protect resources and promote agroecology. The new phase adds value chain development for forest and farm products, irrigation projects, and restoring degraded land along the Mono River.

Around 17,000 households are expected to benefit directly. In total, about 1.15 million people nationwide could be impacted. The agreement was signed in Lomé during a Luxembourg delegation visit.
