Togo has officially launched the 2025–2026 soybean marketing season with a ceremony in Lomé. Agreements were signed between producers, processors, and exporters to guide sales, transport, and export procedures.
The purchase price for soybeans has been set at 220 CFA francs per kilogram, down from 250 CFA francs last season. Officials confirm that the price reduction reflects falling rates on international markets. The new campaign targets a marketing volume of 200,000 tonnes of soybeans. Sector leaders hope the agreements will stabilize the market and ensure fair income for producers.
They also aim to improve access to credit and investment for traders and processors. Togo plans to raise production to 500,000 tonnes next season to strengthen its role as a top West African soybean producer.
