Togo Launches 6th “Buy Local” Month

Togo has launched the 6th edition of its “Buy Local” month in Lomé on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The event, chaired by Mensah Koffi Vinyo from the Ministry of Local Consumption, promotes “Made in Togo” products and services.

Held under the theme “Skills and Innovations for the Competitiveness of Local Products,” it aims to boost creativity and entrepreneurship. Activities include training workshops, conferences, company visits, and sales fairs nationwide. Authorities encourage citizens to support locally made goods to drive economic growth. The event also seeks to strengthen the agri-food, textile, cosmetic, and artisanal sectors.

WAEMU representative Abdoulaye Diop emphasized the role of innovation in transforming economies. The “Buy Local” month, launched in 2019, is celebrated across all eight WAEMU member states.
