Togo’s Pension Fund (CRT) spent over 26.2 billion FCFA on benefits by June 2025. Revenues for the same period stood at 24.5 billion FCFA, leaving a deficit of nearly 2 billion.
A total of 41,775 people benefited from payments in the first half of the year. Retirees made up the largest group with 27,991 beneficiaries. Widow pensions went to 7,287 people, while 6,206 orphans received allowances. The CRT also paid 1.1 billion FCFA in family benefits and 22 million in disability pensions.
Payments rose from 12.9 billion FCFA in the first quarter to 13.2 billion in the second. Most revenue came from contributions, with 23.9 billion collected, making up 97% of income.
