Shatta Wale Honours Samini as Dancehall Pioneer

At his 40th birthday concert, “Shattabration 2025,” Shatta Wale publicly recognised Samini as the artist who paved the way for Ghana’s new generation of stars. The emotional tribute took place before a massive crowd at Independence Square in Accra.

Shatta Wale, known for past rivalries, set differences aside to celebrate Samini’s impact on Ghanaian music. Samini, who won a MOBO Award in 2006, helped make Ghanaian dancehall known worldwide. His success inspired artists like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie to reach global audiences. During the event, the two performed their 2019 hit “Celebration,” symbolising unity in the industry.

Fans praised the moment as a powerful gesture of respect and reconciliation. The tribute highlighted how honouring pioneers strengthens Ghana’s music legacy for future generations.
