Ivory Coast Aids Ghanaian Refugees in Bounkani Region

Côte d’Ivoire is helping Ghanaian refugees who fled violence in Ghana’s Savannah region.

The refugees are now in the Bounkani region, in the northeast of Côte d’Ivoire. On August 31, Minister Nialé Kaba sent a team to deliver food and supplies to two towns: Vonkoro and Massioutéon. The items included 3 tons of rice, 100 mats, 260 buckets, and 2 cartons of oil. Local officials attended the donation ceremony in Vonkoro.

Minister Kaba thanked the local people for welcoming the refugees. She said their kindness reflects Côte d’Ivoire’s tradition of hospitality. The government hopes this support will ease the burden on both refugees and host communities.
