Mahama Relaunches National Sanitation Day

President John Dramani Mahama relaunched the National Sanitation Day in Madina, Accra. He praised the Buz Stop Boys for their volunteer work in cleaning towns and cities.

To support them, the government donated wheelbarrows, shovels, brooms, gloves, brushes, and buckets. The President recalled first seeing their activities on social media in 2024. He earlier supported them with a tricycle to aid their cleaning efforts. The Buz Stop Boys’ leader, Heneba Kwadwo Sarfo, thanked the President for the recognition.

From October 2025, the first Saturday of each month will be observed as National Sanitation Day. The initiative was originally launched in 2014 during Mahama’s first administration.
