Ouattara Appoints Brother as Vice PM

Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara has reshuffled his government after recent elections. He appointed his younger brother, Téné Birahima Ouattara, as vice prime minister. The new position was created as part of the cabinet reorganisation. Téné Birahima will also continue serving as defence minister. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé was retained to lead the government. Most senior ministers kept their positions, signalling continuity in governance.

The reshuffle follows Ouattara’s re-election and his party’s strong parliamentary victory. The appointment has drawn attention to the growing influence of the president’s inner circle.
