A few days after forming the first government of the Fifth Republic, President of the Council Faure Gnassingbé expanded his team with three new ministers. General Yark Damehame was appointed Minister and Chief of Staff to the President of the Council.
A former Minister of Security, he will now play a central role in coordinating the new executive. Pascal Bodjona, a seasoned politician and diplomat, was named Minister Counselor. He is expected to strengthen foreign relations and institutional dialogue. Edem Tengue, former Minister of Maritime Economy, was also appointed as Minister Counselor.
These additions bring more experience and balance to the leadership team. The government now includes 30 members, with 20 ministers and 10 junior ministers.
