Angola has been selected to host the entire 2026 Basketball Africa League season.
The decision, approved by President João Lourenço, highlights the nation’s status as a basketball powerhouse, following its 12th AfroBasket title in 2025.
In a major change, the BAL will become a permanent 12-team league from 2026, with a reported $50 million entry fee. This marks a shift from Rwanda, which hosted recent seasons.
