Ghana’s Black Queens booked a spot in the 2024 WAFCON quarter-finals with a dominant 4-1 win over Tanzania. The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, but Ghana scored three goals in a powerful second-half display.
Princella Adubea opened the scoring early on, though Tanzania equalized through Stumai Athuman. Alice Kusi put Ghana back ahead with a penalty before Evelyn Badu and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah sealed the win with late goals. Ghana’s attack flourished down Princess Marfo’s side, earning key chances. Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan also made crucial saves to keep Ghana in the game.
The result sets up a quarter-final clash with Algeria on July 19. A win will send the Queens to the semi-finals.
