Ghana’s Black Stars defeated Mali 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium. Alexander Djiku scored the only goal in the 49th minute from a Jordan Ayew cross.
Otto Addo made four changes to the squad, bringing in Djiku, Salisu, Partey, and Sibo. The first half ended goalless despite Ghana coming close through Antoine Semenyo. Caleb Yirenkyi’s strike off the crossbar led to the corner that produced the winner. Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and defenders Salisu and Djiku held off Mali’s late attacks.
Thomas Partey also made a vital clearance to preserve Ghana’s lead. The victory puts Ghana three points clear at the top of Group I.
