Nigeria and Botswana will meet for the second time when they clash in their second Group B match
Their previous WAFCON encounter was also in the second group match of the 2022 edition. Nigeria won 2-0 thanks to goals from Ifeoma Onumonu (21’) and Christy Ucheibe (48’).
The Super Falcons could book their place in the knockout if they beat Botswana.
Meanwhile, Tunisia and Algeria meet for the first time at the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in a Group B encounter
This is the first-ever WAFCON meeting between two North African nations that share a border – Tunisia and Algeria are separated by a 1,034-kilometre boundary stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sahara Desert.
It is only the second WAFCON fixture between North African nations in the tournament’s history. The first was Morocco’s 4-1 win over Egypt in the group stage of the 1998 edition.
