Warri Wolves reignited their push for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with an emphatic 3-0 win over Kun Khalifat FC in their second Group B game at the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs.
The victory secured Warri Wolves’ first three points of the playoffs and lifted them to second in Group B behind Osun United, who played out a 1-1 draw with Crown FC in the other group fixture.
A similar scenario is unfolding in the Northern Conference, where Desert Yobe Stars climbed to the top of the table with four points after a narrow 2-1 win over Doma United.
Meanwhile, Barau FC and Wikki Tourists played out a goalless draw, leaving both sides on two points after two rounds.
With only one game left to play for each team, qualification in both zones will go down to the wire as all eight teams remain mathematically in the race for NPFL promotion.
