NUGA 2025: Champions Emerge in Jos as Boxing Finals Deliver KOs

The boxing arena of the 27th Nigeria University Games (NUGA) in Jos pulsed with intensity on November 13, 2025, as the nation’s best collegiate fighters stepped into the ring for a decisive final day of action.

Hosted by the University of Jos, the event produced a blend of walkovers, tactical masterclasses, hard-fought duels and standout individual performances.

In the female 48kg category, OAU’s Fagbola Fatihia claimed the title uncontested, while OOU’s Asiru Basit secured the male 54kg crown in similar fashion. LASUED’s Enitan Yisa also advanced without opposition in the female 57kg class.

The competition intensified with the female 57kg final, where OOU’s Odunbaku Joky delivered a commanding 5–0 win over LASU’s Jojo Christopher.

The female 60kg bout followed suit with another engaging contest, as UNILAG’s Ifeoluwa Oseni edged past Rianat Adebayo of FUOYE in a 4–1 decision. Walkovers continued in the male 60kg category, with LAUTECH’s Habeebullahi Faosy taking the title.
