ECOWAS Mission Inspects Cavalla River Bridge Project

An ECOWAS delegation has inspected the ongoing Cavalla River Bridge project linking Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia. The inspection aims to assess progress on the regional transport corridor connecting the two countries.

Officials said the bridge will enhance trade, tourism, and cross-border mobility in West Africa. The project forms part of the larger ECOWAS–Mano River Union infrastructure integration plan. Local authorities welcomed the mission, saying it will strengthen cooperation and economic ties. Construction teams reported steady progress despite earlier delays caused by logistics challenges.

The bridge is expected to ease the movement of goods and reduce transport costs between the two nations. ECOWAS reaffirmed its commitment to completing the project as a symbol of regional unity and development.
