The Federal Government has commenced payment of ₦18 billion in outstanding severance benefits to 2,700 former Nigeria Airways workers, following the liquidation of the national carrier in 2004.
The payment is being made in nine batches, with 2,100 former employees already paid and another 600 beneficiaries cleared. Payments to deceased workers will go to verified next of kin or other eligible beneficiaries.
