The Bank of Ghana will mark 60 years of the cedi on July 19, 2025. Celebrations begin with an official launch in August at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Exhibitions with the National Museum and mobile museums will follow. Activities will include public education on handling cash and recognizing currency features. In September, community outreach and roadshows dubbed “Cedi Week” will engage citizens. October will feature essay contests and school programs under “CediFest.” A grand anniversary event is scheduled for November in collaboration with the Currency Department. The celebrations will close with a thanksgiving service in December.
